The Good deeds Africa Construction and Renovation project offer volunteers the special opportunity to work alongside local people to help improve the infrastructure in small rural communities. This project focuses on the construction and renovation of orphanages, clinics, community centers, toilets facilities, and schools. This is especially important in the beautification of schools and health centers to provide a more stimulating environment in which students can learn or in which community activities such as health care can take place. Get your hands dirty and see physical results from your work. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to meet chiefs and community elders, and learn more about the various cultures of the different communities through stories, music, and dance.
Volunteers work closely with the local people and Good deeds Africa Tanzania staffs and roles may include painting, bricklaying, plastering, digging foundations, mixing cement, carrying water and sand, sand screening, sandpapering the walls, block shaping, carpentry, steel bending, putting up window and door glasses, shoveling sand, murals etc. If you’re a keen outdoors person with a good level of fitness, this will be a perfect project for you. Please note, projects and volunteer roles will vary from community to community. Volunteers should bring gloves, flashlight, hat, insect repellent, working boots, water bottle, masks. Whatever skills and talents you have, volunteering on a construction and renovation project in Africa, offers a rewarding combination of the new, exciting, and life-changing, as well as the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
